A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression. A complete gasket set is required when the vehicle’s engine is overhauled. It consist of a cylinder head gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, sump gasket and oil seals as the old gaskets cannot be reused again.
